7th Pay Commission: No arrears on pay hike to be paid

The Finance Ministry officials involved with the process of pay hike told The Sen Times on condition of anonymity that no Arrears on pay hike will be paid to central government employees.

They said, “government is committed towards its responsibilities on Finance Minister’s assurance of raising pay for lower-level employees beyond the suggestion of the 7th Pay Commission, which will be paid from April.”

Junior level central government employees may get salary hike

While the central government has decided to keep the salary of mid and senior level central government employees unchanged, it is considering a proposal to raise the salary of all central government employees whose pay falls within pay matrix level

Government Jobs: Over 4 Lakh Posts Lying Vacant in Central Govt

More than four lakh posts are lying vacant in the Central government as on March 1, 2016, according to a finance ministry report called Pay and Allowances of Central Government Civilian Employees for 2016-17 said. There is a need to capture jobs on the real-time basis, said Niti Aayog.

The report said that the number of vacancies came down from 6 lakhs as on March 1, 2013, to 4.21 lakh as on March 1, 2014. While the number of vacancies came down in a year, it remained same in subsequent years as it was in 2014, the report suggested.

Government employees to get paid leave for blood donation

Central government employees can now get paid leave for blood donation, personnel ministry has said. 

At present, service rules allow leave for whole blood donation and not apheresis donation, it said.
