Standard deduction to benefit central govt employees

Central government employeers who benefited from the 7th Pay Commission will get further advantage  through standard deduction announcement today in the Budget.

It will help central government employees to save more money as the standard deduction of Rs 40,000 is introduced in lieu of transport and medical reimbursements for salaried employees. 

Fearing ‘reprisals’, many employees de-activate social media accounts

A Facebook user wrote on his timeline: “Take a lot of curd friends. It is very healthy. What else do I post…..? Gosh.”

The government diktat curbing use of social media by its employees forced many employees on Wednesday to de-activate their social media accounts.

Fear reprisals, several employees deactivated their original accounts and created fake ones while some refrained from writing political posts on Facebook and Twitter.

What if 7th Pay Commission is the last? Will it help govt employees?

With the news of increase in the minimum pay of the Central government employees still in limbo, news are making rounds that the 7th Pay Commission will be the last pay commission for the government employees.

LUDHIANA: A meeting of Central Government Employees Welfare Committee (CGEWCC) Ludhiana was held in the Office of the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Rishi Nagar, on Tuesday. Meeting was chaired by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax B.K.Jha who is also the chairman of CGEWCC and Joint director of ATI, Manjit Singh who is Secretary of committee was also present on the occasion.
