The wait for nearly 1 crore central government employees and pensioners waiting for allowances and arrears under the 7th Pay Commission may come to an end this week.

Central Government Employees must Wait another Week for Update on 7th CPC

Central government employees will have to wait for yet another week to receive any update on the revised allowance structure as recommended by the 7th Pay Commission. The Empowered Committee of Secretaries (E-CoS) is expected to convene next week to ponder on the recommendations before being presented before the Union Cabinet for their nod.

Central government employees pay hike: Update on 7th Pay Commission likely today

The meeting on updates of seventh pay commission allowances is likely to take place today between Union leaders of central government officials and top government officials, according to a NDTV report.

The seventh pay commission was constituted in February 2014 to review the principles and structure of emoluments of all central government civilian employees including DEFENCE forces and submitted its report on 19 November 2015.

The Committee on Allowances headed by Shri Ashok Lavasa, Finance Secretary and Secretary (Expenditure) submitted its Report to the Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley yesterday; The Report will be now placed before the Empowered Committee of Secretaries (E-CoS) to firm-up the proposal for approval of the Cabinet.
